iCosta:The First System-Level Chinese Input Method in iPhone
Yeah! All chinese iphone owners can now enter chinese characters in any iphone applications now! Yes, you get it: a platform IME! COOL,right?
:-):-)

Oh, I forgot its name: iCosta. And now version is 0.9.
If you use Installer (AppTApp), please launch Safari in iphone to visit here. Then follow the instructions and reboot your iphone;
If you use iBrickr, then download iCosta.pxl and install from your local disk. Don’t forget to reboot your iphone, either.
And the switch between en keyboard and ch is “.124” key. Try it out now! Time to say goodbye to my installed SMS chin apps now with much appreciation
Update(Sep.25,2008): for now, iCosta has updated to 1.2.3(Chinese) for the new iPhone OS 2.0.x and 2.1. You can get it through Cydia. Currently iCosta is still my preferred IME for Chinese.
Update(Sep.16,2009): 1.2.8 for 3.0&3.0.1 released.

Hey, I have been trying to install iCosta on my jailbroken iPod Touch Firmware 1.1.2. As far as I know since today there is a iCosta Version for Firmware 1.1.2 but for some reason it doesnt work… Is there anything special I need to do? Is there a special way to switch between the English keyboard and the Chinese one?

Now that my iphone is still ff 1.0.2, I haven’t got a chance to try the newly iCosta.
Based on my knowledge, I’d like you to check if you have rebooted your iTouch after the installation.
If you did, there shouldn’t be any problems.
And the switch is the ‘.123′ key. The first press in en keyboard should turn it into Chinese input method.

Just wanna check whether iCosta can VIEW any recieved chinese SMS instead of sending chinese SMS. My concern is sometimes I recieve lots of Chinese SMS during Chinese New Year…

Sure you can read Chinese SMS on iPhone. That’s the built-in multiple language support by iPhone OS itself.
Actually that has nothing to do with iCosta, which is just an Chinese input method, even though you can reply the SMS in Chinese by iCosta as well.

James, launch Installer, tap Sources -> Edit, now you should see Add on the upper left corner of screen. Tap Add and you can add the source now.
Good luck.
